I have a passion for sharing my positive volunteer experiences with the Red Cross, especially in my community. It is easy to talk about the work I have done with the Red Cross, I especially enjoy sharing my experiences where I have been out in the community helping.
I recently attended a South Asia community event to talk about volunteering for the Red Cross. The students I spoke with were very interested in getting involved with volunteer work. They were engaged while I spoke about the various opportunities, especially the participatory community events. They seemed very motivated to find meaningful ways to spend their time away from books, studying and electronic media. My personal involvement in the “Sound the Alarm” event was a great example of the type of activity they seemed to find most interesting.
