Even as we live with the COVID-19 pandemic this Halloween, we want children to enjoy the pursuit of candy in adorable costumes.

Here are some tips from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) to keep children safe as they celebrate Halloween this year:
- Instead of indoor parties, celebrate outside where the virus has the lowest chance of spreading.
- Trick or treat in a small group.
- Help your children avoid large groups that gather at doorways as they go from house to house.

The CDC states that if you or your child have symptoms or are sick, don’t host or attend a gathering.

The Red Cross also recommends choosing flame-resistant costumes and having an adult check all treats before children eat them. Read a full list of Red Cross safety tips here.
