Giving blood is a noble and quick way to make a huge difference in someone’s life! Looking forward to your first blood donation this winter? Here’s what DeFrance Clarke, a veteran from the US Air Force, had to say about his blood donating experience.
What motivated you to make your first donation?
“My first donation was during the Navigator training in the US Air Force. My primary motivation was peer pressure, as I saw many folks in my class were donating.”
What would you tell someone who is considering blood donation for the first time?
“It is easy, relatively painless, and incredibly helpful!”
Blood is a precious resource but has a limited shelf life. With blood donations slowing down during the holiday season, maintaining an adequate blood supply becomes even more critical in helping yield life-saving blood products for surgical procedures, traumatic injuries, and chronic illnesses.
